We are seeking an experienced, results-driven HR leader to serve as the Head of HR for Vietnam. This pivotal role is responsible for driving the full, end-to-end People Experience strategy and operational execution, partnering directly with the business on key areas including talent attraction, employee engagement, relations, benefits, wellbeing, governance, and country-specific talent development and planning. The successful candidate will ensure consistent HR Operations and governance of ways of working across Vietnam.
HCMC is where our growth is planned and will become an equal and opposite second base to Hanoi. The leadership team will be split across Hanoi and HCMC and the Head of HR will be expected to ensure good communications across sites to connect with the CEO and wider leadership team to ensure HR practices underpin the CEO’s business strategy.
This role will be fairly stand alone on the ground while we build the base, largely made up of Sales team.
The total HR team of PropertyGuru is c50 people with +20 reporting to this role consisting of HR Ops, TA and HRBPs. Systems and ways of working are outdated and there is a need to overhaul the technology and processes to create a more efficient and consistent way of working.

As a Guru you are accountable for:
Strategic HR Leadership: Partner with the business to manage end-to-end site HR responsibilities, ensuring alignment with global and regional HR strategies.
Regional Alignment & Governance: Collaborate closely with peer Heads of HR across Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, and India to ensure consistent governance and HR approach across countries.
Program Activation: Drive the implementation of the HR calendar, products, processes, and enhancements for all employees across Vietnam.
Culture & Inclusion: Lead and mobilize the local leadership team to actively foster a diverse, inclusive, and high-performance workplace culture where every employee is empowered.
Financial Planning: Support the development of headcount and budget plans and lead their effective implementation year-on-year.
Centre of Expertise (COE) Collaboration: Work closely with Centres of Expertise on product development, delivery, and lead local execution of HR initiatives.
Talent Development: Partner with the business on on-boarding initiatives and various manager development programs.
Transformation & Innovation: Lead local HR transformation initiatives in collaboration with COEs and HRBP colleagues.
Employee Relations: Provide expert consultation to leaders and employees regarding complex employee relations issues, ensuring compliance and fairness.
People Strategy Support: Support key Recruiting, Inclusion and Diversity, and Education initiatives aligned with the overarching HR people strategy.
Data & Insights: Analyze people data and trends to provide critical insights that inform strategic business decisions, people initiatives, and programmes.
We are looking for someone who has:
Regional Expertise: Strong knowledge of employment law, tax, and regulation, specifically within Vietnam, SE Asia preferable.
Leadership Experience: Previous experience in managing an HR team within a matrixed organization is critical. Leading an HR team across multiple locations is essential, preferably SEA.
Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Excellent ability to develop effective working relationships across all organizational levels.
Drive & Adaptability: Strong self-drive, proactive, goal-oriented approach, and comfort with ambiguity and ability to adapt to change and high-growth environments.
Presentation Skills: Ability to develop and deliver messages effectively through professional presentation.
Operational Excellence: Demonstrated organizational skills, accuracy, reliability, and a high standard of attention to detail.
Problem Solving: Pragmatic problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
Business Acumen: Strong sensitivity regarding budget management and organizational efficiencies.
Teamwork: A dedicated team player committed to collective success.
Managing a HR team: Previous experience in a matrixed organisation critical, leading a HR team across SEA (or regionally elsewhere) essential.
Strong self-drive: Oriented and proactive approach to achieving the goals.
