About the Role:
We’re evolving our engineering practices to make quality and operational reliability a core part of how our product teams build software.
We’re looking for a technical Engineering Lead to drive this transformation, taking ownership of our test automation strategy, CI/CD health, and system observability practices. You’ll work closely with engineering squads to ensure quality is built into the development process from day one and foster a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement.
This is a hands-on technical leadership role where you’ll help stabilize and enhance our test automation frameworks, coach developers on testing and operational best practices, and improve the overall health and reliability of our platform.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the strategy and implementation of automated testing frameworks for UI, API, and integration tests.
Define and implement testing standards, guidelines, and best practices across engineering squads.
Partner with tech leads and developers to integrate automated quality checks into CI/CD pipelines and ensure strong coverage for new and existing features.
Act as a technical mentor and coach for engineers and the junior SDET, supporting test automation, incident resolution, and system monitoring.
Champion operational excellence initiatives: improve CI/CD pipeline stability, production monitoring, incident handling, and system observability.
Track, report, and act on key quality and operational KPIs (test coverage, CI reliability, deployment success rates, defect rates, etc.).
Continuously improve deployment and release processes to minimize risk and improve delivery speed.
What You Bring:
8+ years of experience in software engineering, test automation, or quality engineering roles.
Strong practical experience with automated testing frameworks (Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or similar) and integrating them into CI/CD pipelines.
Proven ability to lead technical initiatives focused on test automation, platform reliability, and engineering process improvement.
Solid understanding of observability, monitoring tools, production debugging, and incident management workflows.
Experience working in continuous delivery or agile product development environments.
Passion for operational excellence, clean engineering processes, and building reliable, scalable systems.
Excellent collaboration, technical leadership, and mentoring skills.
Bonus: Experience in marketplace, proptech, or consumer-facing product companies.
