At Paper.id we’re building the financial operating system for Indonesian businesses — invoicing, payments, and AR/AP that thousands of companies run their money through every day. The frontend is where that complexity has to feel effortless. We’re looking for a frontend engineer who ships fast, cares about the whole system (not just the part they own), and treats AI as a core part of how they work — not a novelty.

This is a role for someone hungry: curious enough to read the backend service behind the API they’re calling, brave enough to open a Flutter file they’ve never seen, and honest enough to ask “why are we building this?” before writing the code.

What you’ll do:

Build fast, reliable web experiences in Angular + TypeScript that talk to our RESTful microservices

Write clean, tested, maintainable code — and care about loading time, bundle size, and edge cases, not just the happy path

Use AI as a daily multiplier — code generation, review, debugging, test writing, spec drafting. We expect you to be genuinely good at this, and to help the team get better at it too

Work shoulder-to-shoulder with Product and UI/UX to turn fuzzy requirements into features users actually understand

Trace a bug or a feature across the stack — read the Go service, follow the API contract, and understand where the data really comes from before you patch the UI

Contribute beyond the frontend when it helps ship — a backend fix / feature implementation, a Flutter mobile tweak, a script. We value people who fill gaps over people who guard boundaries

Help refine specs and technical requirements — push back, ask questions, propose simpler approaches

Keep quality and brand consistency high, and stay current on where frontend and AI tooling are heading

Work in an agile team and take real ownership of what you deliver

What we’re looking for:

Strong fundamentals in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript

Solid experience with a modern component framework — Angular 19 or above preferred; React or Vue experience transfers well

Comfort consuming and reasoning about RESTful APIs and third-party libraries

You use AI tools fluently and thoughtfully in your day-to-day engineering, and can talk about where they help and where they don’t

A genuine appetite to learn across the stack — backend, mobile, infra — and no fear of jumping into unfamiliar code

Experience writing automated tests (unit + integration — Jest, Karma/Jasmine, Cypress, or similar)

Comfortable with Git and collaborative, agile workflows

Sharp problem-diagnosis instincts, creative under constraints, and a strong bias toward shipping and learning

Nice to have:

Exposure to Flutter or another mobile framework

Any backend experience — Go, Node, or building and consuming microservices

Performance optimization work (bundle size, load time, rendering)

A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field — but we care far more about what you can build and how fast you learn than about the diploma
