The Role

Our Senior Mechanics are hands-on shift leaders performing maintenance, repairs, and routine inspections on our e-scooter fleet as well as monitoring the performance of our mechanics. The primary KPIs relate to the productivity of the mechanics (RTG/hour) and inventory accuracy levels. Reporting to the Operations Associate, a Senior Mechanic also ensures that our warehouse is operating efficiently, safely and in accordance with Neuron’s standard operating procedures. This role best suited for those who enjoy technical challenges, appreciate variety in their work, and are committed to safety and quality. This role also has the opportunity to streamline warehouse and repair processes and spearhead the growth of Neuron by proactively contributing to other launch initiatives in AU and elsewhere. The ideal candidate will have the availability to work 4 weekdays plus 1 weekend day however can be flexible for the right candidate.

What you’ll do:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on e-scooters and e-bikes.
  • Conduct regular assurance checks to ensure all units meet safety and performance standards.
  • Troubleshoot issues, identify root causes, and implement reliable solutions.
  • Document completed work and maintain accurate service records.
  • Collaborate with the broader operations team to ensure timely deployment of serviced vehicles.
  • Develop and execute Neuron's Warehouse Management strategy in Adelaide
  • Ensure the Warehouse team performs quality control and basic maintenance on the e-scooters as well as adhering to the Operations Standard Operating Procedure.
  • Perform basic administrative tasks, such as shift scheduling, manpower deployment and inventory management.
  • Planning for and conducting monthly (or as required) stocktakes.
  • Train new e-scooter mechanics and conduct any refresher training as necessary.
  • Other ad-hoc tasks as required
  • Responsible for the Workshop KPI's
  • Represent Neuron as a positive brand ambassador.

What you'll need:

  • 1-3 years of experience working with light vehicles (e.g. cars, motor scooters, motorcycles) or electrical systems
  • Formal qualifications in automotive mechanics, such as a Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology
  • Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.
  • A valid driver's licence
  • Ability to regularly lift, carry and manoeuvre items weighing 28-35kg.
  • A suitable personal smart phone is required (generally an Apple or Android device from 2018 or newer)
  • Prior experience in stock planning and management.
  • A hands-on approach to leadership - our Senior Mechanic will need to be comfortable “leading by example,” working alongside our mechanics.
  • A process-driven mentality, with experience defining best practice warehouse procedures.
  • Flexible work schedule with the ability to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed, especially during new location launch periods.
  • Excellent communication and people skills.
  • A keen curiosity in shared mobility and a growth mindset.
