Chief Revenue Officer - AI SaaS
Accounting & Finance
Auckland, New Zealand
New Zealand-based | Auckland preferred | Primarily US market
Competitive base + performance upside + equity
Joyous replaces traditional surveys with dynamic AI conversations and real-time action.
Instead of collecting feedback, analysing it later and deciding what to do weeks later, Joyous can understand what people are saying in the moment, ask smarter follow-up questions and help organisations move directly into action.
We already have an impressive product and real traction, including many of the world’s largest telecommunications companies across the US, Europe and New Zealand.
Now we’re building a repeatable mid-market growth engine across a targeted set of ICPs and need someone to own it.
The role
You’ll report directly to our CEO and founder and work in very close partnership with her to build and run the commercial engine across:
Marketing → Sales → Activation → Customer Success
This will be a highly hands-on role, particularly at the beginning.
We expect to grow from a very small commercial team to roughly 10 people. Before there are people to lead, you’ll be in the work yourself: campaigns, pipeline, sales calls, playbooks, customer journeys, hiring and performance.
You won’t be starting from scratch. We already have a clear GTM thesis, target ICPs, a detailed sales process, scripts and artefacts that are already being tested, an emerging demand engine and an activation model we want to simplify and increasingly codify into the product.
Your job is to take this foundation pressure test, refine and turn it into a repeatable, scaled machine.
Who we’re looking for
The most important requirement is recent, directly transferable experience.
You should currently be, or very recently have been, in a B2B SaaS or AI software company actively building a similar mid-market growth engine.
You don’t need to already have the CRO title.
While you could be the CRO, we are also open to someone who is currently the hands-on operator underneath a CRO, VP Revenue, CEO or founder and is ready to step up, as long as you were genuinely involved in building the engine and can clearly explain your contribution and the evidence that it worked.
If your recent experience is mainly managing a mature team or inheriting an established machine, this probably isn’t the right fit.
We really do need someone who has recently been in the engine while it was being built using all the latest tech and approaches successfully.
How we work
Joyous is a small, flat and tight-knit team.
You’ll work directly with the CEO, founders and early team, with very few layers between something we learn in the market and a decision about what we do next.
We value simplicity, speed and ownership. We give people a lot of freedom, but expect a high work rate, strong accountability and clear, transparent communication.
This role is NZ-based, with Auckland preferred, and will work primarily into the US market.
What you get
-
Equity

Why now
Joyous already has the product, customers, technology and a strong hypothesis for what comes next.
What we need now is someone who can turn that into a simple, repeatable mid-market growth engine.
For someone who has already helped build one and is ready to move from being a key operator to the person accountable for the whole thing, this could be a career-defining next step.
Applying
Send us your CV and answer three questions in your own words:
1. Tell us about the B2B SaaS or AI growth engine you are currently, or were very recently, involved in building. What did you personally own?
2. What changed as a result of your work?
3. What would you do differently if you were building it again today?
A note on AI: we don’t use AI to screen applications. A human at Joyous will read every one. Please don’t use AI to write your application either. We want to understand how you think and what you actually did.
