About the Role
We are seeking a Finance Executive to provide accounting and finance support to the company.
The ideal candidate will have a mindset of continuous improvement and change and will demonstrate curiosity, collaboration and the ability to deal with ambiguity especially in a start-up environment. You are passionate about learning new processes, keen to interact with multiple stakeholders, and take ownership for work delivered.You contribute directly to timely and accurate month-end financial close processes that enable confident business decision-making across the organization.
This role is based in Malaysia and reports directly to Head of Finance Operations.
A summary of the key responsibilities are as follows:
- Ensure timely and accurate execution of all General Ledger (GL) entries and monthly closing activities, maintaining the integrity of financial records.
- Post bank entries accurately and deliver timely month-end bank reconciliation to support financial completeness and control.
- Prepare comprehensive balance sheet analysis and reconciliation, enabling sound financial oversight and reporting accuracy.
- Manage the fixed asset ledger and asset accounting to ensure proper recording, tracking, and reporting of the organization's asset base.
- Collaborate closely with Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), Treasury, and country Finance teams to support seamless month-end closing activities.
- Continuously identify and surface process improvement opportunities that enhance the efficiency and quality of the General Ledger Accounting function.
- Contribute to GL-related migration and transformation projects, supporting the organization's continuous improvement agenda.
- Perform other ad hoc assignments and tasks as and when requested by management.
- Support audit and year end activities
- Assist in the preparation and review of corporate tax computations, tax schedules and supporting documentation, working closely with external tax agents and relevant stakeholders to ensure timely tax compliance.
- Support annual audit and year-end closing activities, including preparation of audit schedules, responding to auditor queries and coordinating the provision of supporting documentation.
About you
- Candidate must possess at least Bachelor's Degree / Professional qualification in Finance / Accountancy / Banking or equivalent
- Required language(s): Bilingual (Must include English)
- Required skills: Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Oracle NetSuite (Finance)
- Meticulous, independent, proactive, responsible, able to multi-task and meet tight deadlines
- Unquestioned integrity and high standards in the work you do
- Comfortable with ambiguity - we're a fast-growing business and there's always unchartered territories, which is part of the fun. You should be comfortable with it and understand that not everything is 100% defined all the time.
- Prior experience in Big 4 audit firms is an advantage
