Curriculum Lead, Learn Grid Studio
Canva
Job Description
Hey, g'day, mabuhay, kia ora, 你好, hallo, vítejte!
Thanks for stopping by. We know job hunting can be a little time consuming and you're probably keen to find out what's on offer, so we'll get straight to the point.
Where and how you can work
Our flagship campus is in Sydney. We also have a campus in Melbourne and co-working spaces in Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide. But you have choice in where and how you work, we trust our Canvanauts to choose the balance that empowers them and their team to achieve their goals.
What you’d be doing in this role
As Canva scales change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that's all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve.
At the moment, this role is focused on:
What you’ll do
As our Curriculum Lead, you'll architect the curriculum infrastructure that transforms Canva's Learn Grid from a content library into a strategically organized, comprehensively mapped educational platform trusted by districts and ministries worldwide. You'll build the curriculum mapping systems, standards alignment frameworks, and content taxonomies that enable 122,000+ resources and millions of elements to be discoverable, verifiable, and pedagogically coherent across 8 locales and multiple curriculum frameworks (Common Core, NGSS, Australian Curriculum, UK National Curriculum, IB).
You'll identify critical content gaps through systematic curriculum analysis, prioritize production across all of our content funnels, and establish the evaluation frameworks that ensure every resource—whether AI-generated or human-created—meets rigorous pedagogical standards and serves real classroom needs at scale.
Act as curriculum expert and strategic partner to Learn Grid Studio leadership, developing curriculum coverage frameworks and quality standards that inform content strategy while identifying opportunity spaces across subjects, grade levels, and priority markets.
Break down complex curriculum coverage problems using gap analysis, teacher demand data, and market insights to develop actionable production roadmaps, maintain quality metrics in collaboration with Data Scientists, and prioritize content creation based on maximum educational impact.
Lead curriculum research and competitive analysis to identify content trends, learning resource patterns, and curriculum requirements across different education markets (US, UK, Australia, Brazil, etc.) that guide strategic priorities for different teacher segments and grade levels.
Facilitate curriculum planning and cross-functional collaboration, helping Learn Grid Studio develop clear content strategies, align with Design teams on quality standards, and contribute to MoE/district sales documentation through curriculum alignment artifacts.
You're probably a match if
We're seeking a strategic thinker who thrives in fast-paced environments and can seamlessly bridge the gap between strategy and hands-on execution. You should be someone who naturally gravitates toward solving complex problems in the education sector, enjoys working with data to drive decisions about curriculum coverage and content quality, and is always on top of emerging opportunities in the space.
You are:
A curriculum infrastructure architect who can build comprehensive coverage across all major frameworks (Common Core, NGSS, Australian Curriculum, UK National Curriculum, IB), subjects, and grade levels—creating a systematic approach to content development rather than piecemeal solutions;
A strategic thinker who can fuse emerging solutions like knowledge graphs and proven methods to build a robust, flexible curriculum plan to power Canva’s future;
A champion for educational equity who can ensure every teacher—from Indonesia to Brazil to rural US—has access to the same high-quality, curriculum-aligned resources as well-resourced schools, regardless of their location, language, or budget constraints;
A quality and trust builder who will transform our Learn Grid from a content repository into the world's premier source for pedagogically excellent resources—someone who understands that producing volume for volume’s sake is not the answer, and our content means nothing without verified alignment, cultural relevance, and proven classroom relevance and effectiveness that reduces teacher workload and drives real learning outcomes.
You have:
5-7+ years experience conceiving and executing a multi-year curriculum strategy impacting globally;
Experience building consensus across product, design, and content teams for major curriculum initiatives;
Designed and implemented methodologies for curriculum mapping;
Portfolio showing curriculum alignment work across multiple frameworks and levels of complexity;
Demonstrated success harnessing technology to design and plan multi-locale curriculum alignment projects in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment.
What you’ll learn and how you’ll develop at Canva
You'll gain deep exposure to all aspects of strategy and operations a high-growth technology company, from AI-powered content innovations to international expansion. Working closely with senior leadership across Teams & Education and other supergroups, you'll develop advanced strategic thinking skills while learning how to scale operations and drive organisational change.
You'll get hands-on experience with one of the most complex content ecosystems in tech, working on problems that don't have playbooks yet, and partnering with cross-functional groups across Canva to find solutions that impact millions of users. This is a role where your decision making and leadership will directly influence strategy, and you'll see your recommendations come to life in our product and shape the future of design.
Through the Strategy subspecialty growth infrastructure and Canva’s professional development programs, you'll develop your sharp commercial instincts, data analysis proficiency, the ability to navigate ambiguity, and hands-on experience with emerging technologies. Most importantly, you'll work with people who are genuinely brilliant and kind, a rare combination that makes the hard problems worth solving, and sets you up for a career in strategy in the tech industry.
