About Airwallex

Airwallex is the AI-native financial operating system for a real-time, intelligent economy. More than 676,000 businesses, including McLaren Racing, Qantas, SHEIN, and TikTok, use us, directly or through our platform partners, to run their financial operations or build and monetize financial products of their own.

We started in Melbourne in 2015 to build the infrastructure global commerce runs on. We're the regulated backbone behind global payments: not by accident, but by design. A decade plus, 85+ licenses, and a financial infrastructure spanning North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific.

We're co-headquartered in San Francisco and Singapore, with more than 2,300 people across 27 offices. We hire builders with founder-level energy, people who move fast with good judgment, dig in with real curiosity, and make calls from first principles rather than waiting to be told what to do. What you'll do

We’re looking for a strategic, resourceful, and market-savvy Senior Marketing Manager to lead marketing in Korea: one of Airwallex’s fastest-growing and most exciting markets.

As our first marketing hire in Korea, you’ll be responsible for shaping and executing our go-to-market and brand strategy locally. This is a unique opportunity to build the Airwallex brand from the ground up in Korea, working closely with our global and regional marketing teams, Head of SME & Growth, along with the sales, product, and PR/comms teams.

You’ll bring a deep understanding of the Korean business and cultural landscape, ensuring our campaigns and messaging resonate locally while aligning with Airwallex’s global positioning. You’ll also manage and mentor a Marketing Executive (contractor) to support execution across events, campaigns, content localisation and other initiatives. This role will suit a resilient builder who is energised by ambiguity, comfortable creating structure where none exists, and motivated by the opportunity to build a market rather than inherit an established playbook.

This is a critical and strategic role for Airwallex Korea in terms of increasing awareness and relevance, strengthening engagement with critical customers and partners, supporting the growth of Airwallex Korea alongside the CM and sales team.

Responsibilities:

Marketing Strategy & Planning

  • Develop and own the marketing strategy and annual plan for Korea, aligned with APAC and global objectives.

  • Partner closely with CM and commercial teams to design and execute fully integrated marketing campaigns that drive awareness, consideration, and pipeline growth.

  • Provide market insights into Korea’s competitive landscape, customer needs, product-market fit, regulatory environment, and emerging opportunities.

Events & Partnerships

  • Develop and execute an events strategy for Korea in collaboration with the regional field marketing team: from industry conferences to Airwallex-hosted experiences.

  • Support partnerships with key associations, affiliates, and ecosystem partners to drive revenue and brand visibility.

  • Build relationships with influential business and fintech communities to amplify Airwallex’s presence and credibility.

Campaigns, Content & Localisation

  • Localise global and regional campaigns for Korea: adapting messaging, tone, and creative assets for local resonance.

  • Lead the creation and localisation of marketing content, including customer stories, blogs, social media, web copy, and email campaigns.

  • Work with the product and sales teams to support go-to-market launches and ensure feedback loops between marketing and commercial teams.

Account Based Marketing (ABM)

  • Develop and Execute Target Account Strategy: Define and lead the ABM strategy for high-value enterprise, mid-market and large SME accounts

  • Create Account Specific Marketing Initiatives: Design and implement highly customized marketing programs, content, and touchpoints to engage decision-makers within target accounts and accelerate pipeline conversion.

  • Measure and Optimize ABM ROI: Track and report on key ABM metrics, including account engagement and pipeline impact, using insights to continuously refine the target list and campaign execution for maximum effectiveness.

PR & Communications

  • Partner with the regional and global PR & Communications teams to identify local stories, spokespeople, and media opportunities.

  • Provide market insights and support for press releases, thought leadership, and public-facing communications.

Performance, Reporting & Budget Management

  • Track and report on marketing performance metrics: including brand awareness, lead generation, and campaign ROI.

  • Manage and allocate the Korea marketing budget effectively, ensuring resources are used strategically for maximum impact.

  • Provide on-the-ground insights to refine targeting, creative performance, and audience engagement.

Project Management & Problem Solving

  • Manage end-to-end marketing initiatives: Lead and deliver complex marketing projects (e.g., product launches, major events).

  • Proactive Issue Resolution: Identify and solve project roadblocks to ensure strategic goals are met.

  • Vendor & Resource Coordination: Coordinate budget, internal stakeholders, external vendors, and the Marketing Executive to maximize output.

Who you are

  • An entrepreneurial self-starter and builder with a strong understanding of Korea’s business and marketing landscape, who is excited by the opportunity to create, test, learn, and build from the ground up.

  • A strategic thinker who can translate insight into impactful marketing initiatives, and a hands-on executor who is equally comfortable rolling up their sleeves to make them happen.

  • A resilient, pragmatic problem solver who stays effective through ambiguity, change, and setbacks, and collaborates seamlessly across local, regional, and global teams.

  • A clear and persuasive communicator, fluent in both Korean and English.

  • Experienced in B2B, tech, SaaS, or fintech marketing, ideally with exposure to fast-scaling global brands.

What You’ll Bring

  • 6+ years’ experience in marketing, with proven success in Korea’s B2B or tech sectors.

  • Demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity, create structure from incomplete information, make sound decisions, and keep momentum when the path forward is not obvious.

  • Experience managing integrated marketing campaigns across multiple channels.

  • Strong understanding of the Korean SME and mid-market audience.

  • Knowledge across key disciplines including field marketing, ABM, partnerships, content creation and amplification, as well as digital performance marketing.

  • Experience managing vendors, agencies, or outsourced teams.

  • High resilience and ownership, with the ability to operate autonomously, adapt quickly, and thrive in a fast-paced, evolving global environment.

  • A genuine entrepreneurial and builder mentality, with evidence of creating new programs, propositions, channels, or market opportunities rather than simply managing established activity.

  • Experience managing or mentoring junior team members.

  • Experience in event planning and management

  • Excellent communication skill that enables close working relationships with key leaders internally and externally.

  • Excellent written, verbal and in-person communication skills

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
